Albany Police were called at around 10:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, for an unconscious man inside a residence on Clinton Avenue near Henry Johnson Boulevard.
The victim, identified as 30-year-old Jieshi Williams, was taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital and later died from blunt force trauma injuries.
According to investigators, Williams and his girlfriend were at a gathering with another couple when he got into a physical fight with the other man. Detectives did not say what led up to the altercation.
A person of interest is in custody, but no charges had been announced as of Monday, Feb. 26.
The incident is under investigation by the Albany Police Department.
